We are a husband and wife architectural design team specializing in residential projects across the nation. Our journey began at Summerour & Associates Architects, in Atlanta, where our shared commitment to thoughtful, bespoke design brought us together. Over the course of six years, we managed a range of custom single-family homes and boutique commercial projects, with notable work at destinations such as Blackberry Farm, Blackberry Mountain, and Trilith.

Lauren has deep roots in the Atlanta area. She grew up in Marietta, Georgia, and spent time living in Colorado and South Florida as a child. Lauren holds a degree from the Georgia Tech School of Architecture. Her creative background extends to the fine arts, having studied oil painting at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. Lauren’s deep appreciation for artistry and local culture is infused into every project she touches.

Born in the Cotswold’s, England, Matthew developed a love for architecture early on. After relocating with his family to Alabama as child, he found inspiration from nature and the surrounding landscape. Matthew is a graduate of the Auburn University School of Architecture and also studied at Istanbul Technical University, broadening his global design perspective.

Traveling together throughout Europe and even Egypt, we have followed our passion for the arts and architecture, continuously seeking inspiration from diverse cultures and histories.

We see ourselves not just as architectural designers, but as storytellers. Each home we design is shaped by the unique narrative of its owner. Our priority is listening—understanding our clients allows us to serve as effective facilitators and creative partners.

We believe that architecture is a poetic assembly of materials. It is taking what some may consider ordinary materials, and arranging them in extra-ordinary ways.  Our designs always begin from the land, and use forms and materials that are regionally expressive and draw on a strong sense of principle beneath an easy-going charm.
